Nkem Owoh Bags Lifetime Achievement Award at AMAA 2017

Nollywood actor, Nkem Owoh, on Saturday received a lifetime achievement award at the 2017 African Movie Academy Awards.

A member of the AMAA jury, Shaibu Hussein, presented the award to the actor to honour him for his dedication to Nollywood for more than three decades,

Also speaking at the presentation of the award, Peace Anyiam Osigwe, founder of AMAA, commended Nkem Owoh for his relentless efforts and consistency in the Nigerian movie industry.

Owoh, who won his first AMAA in 2008, is popular for his roles in movies like “Osuofia in London,” “Things Fall Apart,” “Onye Eze,” “Ukwa” and “Ghana Must Go”. He also wrote scripts for the now rested late Ken Saro Wiwa’s soap, ‘Bassey and Company’  and TV drama, The New Masquerade.

Owoh dedicated his award to peacemakers all over the world. Recalling the previous attempts he made at setting up an award platform, the actor commended the founder of AMAA, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe for her consistency and dedication to promoting the African film makers and their works.

Owoh’s  next movie is the anticipated Genevieve Nnaji’s directorial debut, ‘Lion Heart’.
