Nollywood Set to Remake “Living in Bondage”

A while ago, we published an article on Nollywood classics that should be remade.

We’re happy to announce that Award-winning Nollywood actor Ramsey Nouah and entertainment/business mogul, Charles Okpaleke, are teaming up to remake the movie – Living in Bondage.

BN reports that Ramsey Nouah and Charles Okpaleke have purchased rights to the movie from Kenneth Nnegbue, and production is set to kick off in 2016.  The report also states that the movie will be shot on three continents – Africa, Europe, and America and will have a star-studded Nollywood cast and perhaps some Hollywood involvement.

Living in Bondage is considered the first Nollywood blockbuster hit movie which kicked off the Nigerian cinema industry.56-194044-livingposter. The movie was directed by Chris Obi Rapu, written by Kenneth Nnebue & Okechukwu Ogunjiofor and produced by Kenneth Nnebue.

The original film stars Kenneth Okonkwo (Andy), Nnenna Nwabueze (Merit),  AMMA winner Kanayo O. Kanayo, Nollywood actors Francis Agu (of blessed memory), Okechukwu Ogunjiofor and a host of others.
